About The Consortium Orientation / Skill Building Workshop

This workshop will introduce and develop all aspects of the Consortium for Language Access in the Courts - Oral Performance Examination:

Orientation

• Learn what the examination will test you on. Learn how to prepare for the examination.
• Learn how to avoid pitfalls and how to strengthen your test-taking abilities.
  
• Conduct section-by-section analysis and comprehensive item analysis on the examination.
  

Skill Development
The training will cover extensively techniques for

• consecutive interpretation
• simultaneous interpretation
  
• sight translation.

The training will also focus heavily on

• terminology building
• memory exercises
  
• exercises that have had proven success for past examination takers.
  

Personalized Attention to meet a wide-variety of skill-levels and needs.  Time is set aside for one-on-one practice, skill-development sessions, and individual feedback applicable to different work situations.
