Our Staff




Dr. Roseann Dueñas González has been the Director of the NCI since its inception. She is responsible for overseeing the Center's operation, including the research, instructional programs that are developed and taught, financing and administering of the Center's several projects,and liaison functions between The University of Arizona, the AOUSC and other judicial bodies as well as national, state, and local government agencies and officers. Most importantly, she is responsible for the development of valid and reliable testing instruments, the training of oral examination raters, the administration of court interpreter certification exams throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, and the evaluation of these exams. In addition to these duties, she continues to be very active in research both individually and in collaboration with other scholars in the field. She also serves as a mentor to young scholars wishing to gain from her expertise. She represents the Center and the University at conferences and professional meetings in the field. Dr. González is a Professor of English and has been a member of the University Faculty for 25 years.
