Information for international applicants:

The National Center for Interpretation at the University of Arizona welcomes all levels of professionals into our workshops and seminars. We encourage international applicants to make visa arrangements well in advance to allow time for completion of travel logistics.

We also encourage you to take your notification of acceptance and/or confirmation of registration into the NCI program to your visa interview as well as proof of your professional status as an interpreter in your country.

To estimate the approximate wait for a visa appointment in your local U.S. embassy or consulate, please visit the US State Department website.

Persons traveling to any NCI program as international participants are highly encouraged to obtain private health insurance for the period of time they will be in the U.S. and to carry appropriate documentation of legal status during their stay.

International Visiting Scholars must arrive on a J-1 visa. For information about this process, please email ncitrp@email.arizona.edu.
