Jaime Fatás Cabeza

Jaime Fatás Cabeza is Assistant Professor of the Practice of Translation and Interpretation at the University of Arizona in Tucson. He is a US Court certified judicial interpreter and translator, an accredited medical and conference interpreter, and as a translator he is accredited by the American Translators Association. Jaime has been a staff judicial interpreter and translator for the Trial Court of Massachusetts, Operations Supervisor of Interpreting Services at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, president elect of the Judicial Interpreters of Massachusetts, and official translator and interpreter for Spanish and Mexican consular offices.
Jaime has taught Music, Spanish Language and Culture, and Translation and Interpreting at several colleges and Universities during the last decade. He has been a staff translator and editor for school and college divisions at leading publishing houses. He is a published author and translator and has translated literary, technical and essay works. Recent releases include the books El estudio de la orquestación (The Study of Orchestration by S. Adler/ Juilliard School of Music/Norton Publishing Co., 2006), and La búsqueda de la seguridad (Also Seeking Safety: A Treatment Manual for PTSD and Substance Abuse by L. Najavits/Harvard University, 2006). He is currently translating a collection of academic papers abouth The Cuauhtinchan Codex, a Mexican codex from 1580, commissioned by the Rockefeller Foundation/Harvard University/Instituto de Antropología Mexicano.
