The National Center for Interpretation was closed October 13th, 2025
Thanks to an exclusive licensing agreement, NCI’s Interpreter Training activities can now be accessed at .the National Center for Interpretation LLC, including:
- Court Interpreter Training Institute
- Professional Development Webinars
- Self-Study and Test Preparation Materials
With the Center’s closing, some of its core activities will continue elsewhere at the University of Arizona.
The following certificates will continue to be offered through a partnership between Arizona Online and the Department of Spanish and Portuguese.

Founded in 1979, The National Center for Interpretation Testing, Research and Policy (NCI) at The University of Arizona is dedicated to ensuring language access to Limited-English Persons.
NCI was charged with promoting intercultural communication and social justice for language minorities through cutting-edge research, training, and testing for interpreters and translators while advancing professionalism.
