The National Center for Interpretation is pleased to announce a webinar designed for interpreters of all languages!

The field of artificial intelligence is moving fast! In this session we will delve into the transformative potential of AI in translation and interpreting as it currently stands. The session will start by orienting participants to the fast-changing landscape of AI's interesection with language service, and introducing recently developed guidelines for the safe and ethical integration of AI into language access.

In Part Two, we will experiment with the fundamentals of some of the top AI chatbots following a hands-on approach. Finally, participants will learn essential techniques for crafting and refining prompts to optimize workflow and achieve desired outcomes.

Instructors: Nora Díaz is an English-Spanish translator and conference interpreter who enjoys using technology and finding ways to increase productivity, which combined with her love of teaching, has led her to share what she has learned through a blog, articles, webinars and workshops. Nora is the Chair of the American Translators Association Professional Development Committee. She is also one of the co-organizers of the AI in Translation Summit, the Innovation in Translation Summit, and the Innovation in Interpreting Summit. She has co-authored a book called The Translator’s Tool Box and was listed as one of the Top 30 Women in the Language Industry by Multilingual Magazine in 2023.

Dr. Holly Silvestri is the Senior Coordinator for Translation, Training and Curriculum for NCI. She is a founding member of the SAFE-AI Task Force and the American Association of Interpreting and Translation in Education (AAITE).
