The Three Interpreting Modes (Spanish/English)

The National Center for Interpretation is pleased to announce a webinar designed for Spanish/English court interpreters!

 

Consecutive interpreting, sight translation, and simultaneous interpreting are essential modes for interpreters in court settings, and mastering them is paramount to maintain accuracy.  This webinar will introduce the techniques, skills, and concepts that pertain to these three interpreting modes—including document review, syntactic restructuring, décalage, simultaneous multitasking, chunking, visualization, and situational control, among others. Participants will have the opportunity to practice these skills during the webinar.

This webinar is live and instructor-led. Participants are required to actively participant in the workshop. 

CEUs are approved for the ATA and CA. NCI is a pre-approved provider of CEUs for AZ, CO, FL, KY, PA, and TN.

 

Instructor: Carlos Radillo is a freelance interpreter based in California.  He is both state and federally certified as a court interpreter.
