The National Center for Interpretation is pleased to announce a webinar focused on boosting your skills as a Spanish/English translator!
This webinar has been approved for CEUs in CA, CO, and the ATA, and is pending in FL.
Each Spanish-speaking nation has its own legal codes, and those different codes and legal concepts make the job of the legal translator particularly challenging. This webinar will present a method for successfully translating convoluted Spanish-language legal documents into smooth and precise English.
This online workshop includes:
- Review and discussion of Spanish-English/English-Spanish translation skills
- Emphasis on Spanish-English translation
- Focus on the legal Spanish of Mexico, Venezuela and Colombia (the varieties most frequently encountered by translators in the U.S.)
- Glossaries of difficult terms not found in legal dictionaries are provided
“At the time I was working on a tricky legal translation from Spanish > English and it was very helpful indeed.” — past participant
Instructor: Joshua Elliott, FCCI, CHI, is currently the Executive Officer for the Office of Language Access at the Kentucky Administrative Office of the Courts.
