Making the Leap from Industry to Literary Translation (Language Neutral) - NEW!

When
10am to 12pm PDT, Apr. 15, 2023

The National Center for Interpretation is pleased to announce a live, instructor-led webinar designed for translators of all languages!

It often seems as if there is a wall between commercial translation and literary translation, which generally function as two separate markets. Yet many translators are active in both types of translation work, and the skills of a commercial translator can certainly be applicable to translating books.

So how can translators break into the literary translation market? In what ways is literary translation different? What is the process of translating a book like, in terms of contracts, working with an editor, preparation of the translation, and delivery? What are translation rights?

This webinar will take a practical approach to demystifying the challenges and rewards of translating books, while also touching on some issues of style and voice. Join us!
