Overview of Crimes and Criminal Law (Language Neutral)

The National Center for Interpretation is pleased to announce a new webinar designed for interpreters of all languages!

This live, instructor-led webinar presents an overview of the types of criminal cases and the laws pertaining to crimes that interpreters encounter in their courtroom interpretations. It discusses the difference between criminal and civil cases, the sources of criminal law, the classification of crimes, and the elements of the crimes with which interpreters work in the courtroom.

This webinar has been approved for CEUs for CA and RID (through the ACDHH).* NCI is a pre-approved provider of CEUs for CO, FL, PA, and TN. CEUs are pending for the ATA.

Instructor:  Carmen Patel, JD, is a practicing judicial interpreter.  She holds California court and federal court certifications.
